Peningkatan Kesadaran Keberlanjutan Guru Biologi melalui Pelatihan Pengelolaan Limbah dan Design Thinking

Permasalahan limbah organik di Sukabumi memerlukan peran berbagai pihak, terutama bidang pendidikan. Guru yang memiliki kesadaran keberlanjutan yang kuat dapat merencanakan proyek pembelajaran tentang limbah yang integratif dan holistik. Membekali guru dengan kesadaran keberlanjutan menjadi salah satu upaya mengurai permasalah tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat adalah meningkatkan kesadaran keberlanjutan guru terhadap permasalahan pengelolaan limbah organik. Strategi yang dipilih adalah memberikan pelatihan pengelolaan limbah dengan memperhatikan kondisi lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi, serta pelatihan tentang design thinking untuk memastikan bahwa inovasi, ide, dan solusi yang dibuat berorientasi pada nilai keberlanjutan. Kegiatan mencakup dua fase, yaitu: pelatihan pengelolaan limbah organik dan design thinking serta kegiatan pengembangan studi kasus permasalahan limbah di sekolah. Kegiatan ini berpengaruh signifikan terhadap 3 dimensi kesadaran keberlanjutan; pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku guru dalam mencapai tujuan pembagunan berkelanjutan. Tidak ada perbedaan kesadaran keberlanjutan berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, jenjang pendidikan, dan keikutsertaan PPG. Artinya, kesadaran keberlanjutan guru tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor formal, melainkan hal lain seperti pengalaman personal, interaksi sosial, atau pelatihan. Program pengabdian masyarakat membawa dampak positif dalam peningkatan kesadaran keberlanjutan guru sehingga diharapkan mereka dapat mengembangkan projek yang relevan untuk siswa sebagai kontribusi bidang pendidikan dalam penyelesaian masalah limbah organik di Sukabumi.
